Description:

Manufactured c. 1859-1866. The vast majority of approximately 11,000 Kerr revolvers produced by the London Armoury Company were sold to Confederate purchasing agents for use during the Civil War. The company became so dependent on Confederate arms sales during the war that they stayed in business for only a year after the war's end. The right side of the frame is marked "KERR'S PATENT. 754." and the left is marked "LONDON/ARMOURY", with the matching serial number also marked on the side of the cylinder, and "584" on the front cylinder face. "L.A.C." is marked on the upper left barrel flat and there are British proofs on various parts including the barrel and each chamber of the cylinder. It is fitted with pinched blade front and frame notch rear sights, and a one piece checkered walnut grip.

Rating Definition:

Very good plus, retains 30% plus of the bright original blue finish and patterns of the muted original case colors in sheltered areas with the balance a mixture of smooth grey and brown patinas. The grip is fine with a few scattered light handling marks, hairline cracks in both sides near the butt, and otherwise crisp checkering. The trigger has to be manually reset in double action (broken return spring), otherwise mechanically functions, slightly out of time.
