Description:

Manufactured from 1868 to 1882, these revolvers were intended to served the dual-purpose of pocket pistol and set of brass knuckles. It has a top strap groove sight with the left side marked "MY FRIEND PAT'D. DEC. 26, 1865", lacking a frame mounted safety, and "MY FRIEND" repeated on the lower left frame. Seven-shot unfluted cylinder, with matching partial numbers on the cylinder and cylinder pin, and full serial number on the frame. Frame is decorated with leafy scroll, burst and punch dot engraving, with a starburst behind the hammer and a checkered shield panel on the rear of the solid grip. Provenance: The Milan J. Rating Definition:

Fine, retains 75% of the period replated nickel with the balance having thinned to expose an attractively aged brass, primarily on high spots, and crisp engraving. Mechanically fine.
