The included factory letter confirms the current caliber, barrel length, and finish (grips not listed) when it was shipped to Shapleigh Hardware Co. of St. Louis, MO, on August 24th, 1933. The butt of the revolver is hand marked "ALTON P.D.", this is likely a marking for the city of Alton, IL just north of St. Louis. Includes the original box with Alton Police label. Excellent, retaining 97% plus original blue finish with faint cylinder drag line and minor handling evidence. The wood is very fine with light edge wear and sharp checkering. The box is very good with moderate wear and tape repair. Mechanically excellent.
