According to the included factory letter, this pistol was part of a five-piece shipment on October 15, 1929, to the Tufts-Lyon Arms Company of Los Angeles, California. The letter confirms the major features, minus the traditional "Not Listed" grips. Fixed blade front sight and flat top square notch adjustable rear sight on the matching serialized slide with the caliber marking on the right and the two-line Colt address and patent dates on the left. Blue barrel with a factory polished chamber and no markings. Short checkered milled trigger, checkered magazine catch, slide stop, wide hammer, long grip safety, and an arched checkered mainspring housing. Fitted with fully checkered grips and a two-tone "COLT SUPER/38 AUTO" marked magazine. The included "black box" is matching numbered on the underside, with Super .38 label on the end, containing an instruction sheet, "Special Instructions" and "Proper Ammunition" info sheets, and a Super .38 pamphlet. A floral tooled S.D. Myres holster, floral tooled Bud Dolcater magazine pouch with a two-tone "COLT SUPER/38 AUTO" marked magazine and box of Winchester Super 38 cartridge box holding two rounds are also included.
