Manufactured in 1893. It is fitted with a dovetail Lyman blade front sight and an elevation adjustable buckhorn rear sight with a replacement elevator. The top barrel flat is stamped with the two-line address marking ahead of the rear sight and "40-82 WCF" at the breech. The lower tang has the patent dates marking and the serial number. The plain forearm and straight grip stock are walnut and the stock is fitted with a trapdoor crescent buttplate (cleaning rod not included).
Fine. The barrel and magazine retain 70% original blue finish with thinning to brown on the balance. There are some scattered dents visible on left side of barrel around the rear sight. The breech bolt retains 85% original blue finish. 30% original nitre blue remains on the loading gate. 30% original case colors remain on the mostly silvered out receiver. The wood is very good with a couple of small chips on upper tang and a number of scattered minor dings and scratches. Mechanically excellent.
