Manufactured in 1898, this revolver has the attractive Colt high polish commercial blue finish and is fitted with a 7 1/2 inch round barrel and two-piece checkered hard rubber grips. The barrel is marked with the standard Hartford address in two lines and "COLT FRONTIER SIX SHOOTER" marked on the left side. the encircled Rampant Colt is located on the lower left rear corner of the frame just ahead of the grips. The rear face of the cylinder is numbered ("278") to the gun, and matching assembly numbers are on the grip frame and loading gate.
Fine, retaining 70% original blue finish with thinning to brown on the balance with a few very scattered tiny spots of pitting. The grip straps are mostly a smooth brown-gray patina. The grips are very fine with minimal handling marks and overall crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent.
