Exceptional World War II U.S. National Postal Meter M1 Semi-Automatic Carbine

Manufactured in the first block of National Postal Meter production in 1943. Blade front and two-leaf rear peep sight, "6-43" dated Underwood barrel, unmarked Type I barrel band, "N9" flat top bolt, "N8" operating rod, milled trigger guard, "NH" hammer, unmarked push-button safety, "MN" magazine catch, and "MN" magazine. High wood stock with "TRIMBLE/TN" in the sling cutout and "NPM/FJA" boxed cartouche and crossed cannons on the right of the buttstock. Includes green canvas sling and oiler.

ConditionExcellent, retaining 97% original parkerized finish with some very light freckling, 90% original blue finish on the bolt, and sharp markings in the metal. Stock is very fine with attractive original raised grain and rich oil finish, some light handling marks and scratches, a re-glued section behind the oiler slot, defined edges, and crisp stampings. Mechanically excellent. An attractive example of a National Postal Meter M1 Carbine that appears to have seen little, if any, use at all!
