Manufactured in 1912 with the standard Winchester factory oval proofs on the barrel and receiver at the breech, with the barrel proof having been restamped on the upper left flat when the barrel was refinished. The two-line address/patent date is marked on the upper left flat in front of the rear sight and the nickel steel marking is near the breech. The top flat of the barrel had matting applied and was refinished. The three-line model and trademark is on the upper tang and the serial number is marked on the bottom of the receiver. The left side of the lower tang is marked "942 R" and the stock inlet is stamped "703" which has been crossed out in pencil, with "942" written in the same pencil. It is fitted with beaded blade front and elevation adjustable notch rear sights. It is mounted with a replacement I-pattern checkered forearm and pistol grip stock, which is also a replacement, with a hard rubber grip cap and a hard rubber shotgun buttplate. This rifle was reportedly cataloged about 10 years ago as having a 26 inch barrel in .32-40 WCF and half magazine.

Fine, the factory quality refinished barrel retains 90% plus of the blue finish, 80% partially refinished blue on the remainder (bottom lever drop block), 95% plus of the vibrant refurbished case colors on the lever and hammer, and 90% plus of the nitre blue on the loading gate. The factory quality replacement wood is also very fine with some scattered minor handling marks, a couple faint hairline cracks in the bottom front of the forearm, and a slight gap at the rear of the forearm.
