Description:

Manufactured in 1895, the second year of production, with the desirable "first model" receiver featuring the "10 o'clock" screw by the loading gate. The two-line Winchester address and caliber marking are on the top barrel flat. The upper tang is marked with the three-line model, trademark, and patent information, and the serial number is on the bottom of the receiver. It is fitted with a German silver blade front sight and elevation adjustable buckhorn rear sight. It's mounted with a smooth forearm and straight grip stock with a crescent buttplate. The included factory letter confirms the current configuration and lists receipt at the warehouse on 7 March 1895 and shipment on 24 July 1895.

Rating Definition:

Very fine, retains 99% plus of the professionally restored blue, nitre blue, and case colors with only the slightest handling marks. The replacement wood is excellent with only the slightest handling marks. Mechanically excellent.
