Description:

The barrel is marked "B BAHN & BRO" twice (once over another marking) and "CAPE GIRARDEAU MO" and is fitted with a blade front sight, a buckhorn rear sight, and two additional empty rear sight dovetails. The lock is marked "LEMAN/LANCTR.PA" at the front and has standard Leman scrollwork. It also features a pewter forend cap, double set triggers, and a smooth "perch belly" stock. The Bahn Brothers, Bernard and George W. Bahn, established a hardware store in 1860 and also manufactured rifles early on.

Rating Definition:

Good with dark brown patina on the lock and barrel, mild oxidation and pitting, aged patina on the brass, and moderate overall wear. The stock is good and has a faint repaired crack in the wrist, some scratches and dings, a chip to the left of the tang, and thin crack on the left at the breech. Mechanically fine.
