Description:

William Stein of Camden, New Jersey, was active in 1868-1875. The smoothbore barrel has a turned down muzzle, blade and notch sights, and "W. STEIN/CAMDEN. N.J." The brass "action" has the same marking, and the screws and their corresponding holes are numbered "4," "5," "6," and "7." The trigger guard serves as the cocking lever. The maple stock has an oval cheekpiece and brass furniture. Provenance: The Collection of Joe M. Wanenmacher Jr

Rating Definition:

Fine with mottled gray patina on the barrel and lever, attractive aged patina on the brass, and mild overall wear. The stock is also fine and has some scattered scratches and dings and minor overall wear.
