The Type 2 is a takedown variant of the Type 99 Arisaka, designed to be easily disassembled for use by Japanese paratroopers for carry during jumps. Features a blade front sight and folding rear sight with anti-aircraft wings, a present mum on the receiver, smooth pistol grip stock with cupped buttplate, partial matching serial number "521" marked on the underside of the bayonet lug, bolt handle, and underside of the barrel lug, and "350" assembly number on various components.

Excellent, retains 90% plus original blue finish with scattered patches of light brown surface corrosion, various rough cast components, and a sharp chrysanthemum. Stock is exceptionally fine with some scattered dents and handling marks, a gouge on the right side of the buttstock, a few minor hairline cracks visible ahead of the top sides of the buttplate, and defined edges overall. Mechanically excellent.
