This is an attractive example of a scarce and desirable Astra Model 900 that is complete with a combination wooden shoulder/holster stock. These pistols were designed to capitalize on the popularity of the Mauser Broomhandle and are actually shaped to look and operate exactly like the 1896 Mauser Broomhandle. Access to the actual mechanism is very different from the Mauser pistols in that access is through a sliding plate on the left side of the frame. The side plate is marked ""ASTRA" AUTOMATIC PISTOL CAL 7.63/PATENTED JULY, 12, 1928/Unceta y Compania GUERNICA (Spain)" with the serial number directly under this above the grip panel. Both grips are numbered "43" whereas the last two digits of the pistol is "48". The right side of the frame has the Eibar proof marks that consist of a knight's helmet over a small box with an "X" inside, "F" and the double circled "P" proof for automatic pistols. This same last proof of a circled "P" is found on the right front edge of the barrel extension and again on the rear end of the barrel directly in front of the chamber area. It has the standard tangent rear sight graduated from 50-1000 meters with the fixed inverted "V" front sight. The backstrap is cut for shoulder stock and it has the 12-groove grip panels, and lanyard loop on the butt. It is complete with the combination wooden holster and shoulder stock with the matching pistol serial number restamped inside the lid. The original non-matching number is still present.

Excellent with 99% of the original blue finish remaining overall. The renumbered to match combination wood shoulder stock and grips have been professionally revarnished and both display a beautiful wood grain pattern. Mechanically excellent.
