Manufactured in 1901. The barrel has the two-line Hartford address on top and "COLT D.A. 38" on the left side, frame has the three-line patent dates marking on the left side, and matching numbers on frame, trigger guard, and grip straps. It is fitted with a pair of smooth pearl grips.

Fine, retains 85% plus of the original blue finish, 40% of the vibrant original case colors, and 80% of the original nitre blue with the balance having thinned to mostly a smooth grey patina and a few scattered patches of very light surface pitting. The grips are very fine with a few hairline age cracks around the screws and otherwise minimal handling marks. Mechanically excellent.
