These derringers were introduced in 1870, produced until 1912, and totaled around 48,000 manufactured. The top of the barrel has a rounded blade front sight and "COLT" in large italic letters and the bottom of the barrel has small British proofs. This early 20th century example has the desirable "illegal"/"unauthorized" Colt Pall Mall barrel address on the left side. The caliber marking is on the left of the frame along with a "C" and Rampant Colt. It has standard features and is fitted with a pair of smooth grips with the left panel having two scrimshawed crests, a unicorn's head and an arm clenching a gauntlet. Includes an oak presentation case with Colt London Agency label inside the lid, and key.

Excellent, retains 95% of the original nickel finish some a few scattered light dings and some very light flaking on a couple edges. 70% of the original case colors remain on the hammer. The slightly shrunken grips are very fine with a few short hairline cracks around the screw and otherwise minimal handling marks. The case is fine with some scattered minor handling/storage marks.
