Exceedingly rare in blue finish, this revolver was manufactured in 1884. Only about 4,000 of them were reportedly made. It features the two-line Colt Hartford address on top of the barrel, London "crown/ V" and "crown/ GP" proofs on the barrel underside and repeated on the cylinder behind the flutes, and topstrap inscribed "COGSWELL & HARRISON/226. STRAND LONDON". An "A" is stamped on the left side of the frame below the cylinder. Includes a period partitioned case with a Cogswell & Harrison paper label on the interior of the lid and containg an oiler, cleaning rod, and screwdriver.

Very fine with 85% bright retailer applied blue finish, showing a mixed brown and gray patina around the high edges, along with some scattered handling marks and spotting. Grips are period revarnished, with some loss around the butt and mild pressure dents. Mechanically excellent. The case is also very fine with minor handling/storage marks and clear label.
