This highly attractive Marlin Model 1893 rifle was manufactured in 1894. It is fitted with a special order half magazine. Lyman beaded blade front and elevation adjustable rear sights on a barrel stamped with the two-line Marlin legend ending with the August 1893 patent date ahead of the rear sight and "38-55" at the breech. The top of the casehardened receiver is stamped "MARLIN SAFETY." It is also fitted with a folding tang peep sight. Nicely figured walnut forearm and straight grip stock with a Marlin hard rubber shotgun buttplate.
