Manufactured in 1875, this Colt New Line .38 revolver shows near full coverage factory floral scroll engraving on a punch dot background. The standard two-line address is marked on top of the barrel and "38 CAL" is marked on the butt. The matching serial number is on the left of the grip frame, the bottom of the barrel, and faintly on the inside of each grip. It otherwise has standard features and is fitted with a pair of smooth pearl grips. Includes a hardwood presentation case, key, cleaning rod, and a full cartridge block of .38 RF cartridges. The case is marked "1872 - 1875" in between the hinges. Provenance: The George S. Lewis Jr. Collection
Excellent, retains 97% of the original nickel finish with a few scattered light dings and crisp engraving overall. The grips are excellent with only the slightest handling marks. Mechanically excellent. The case is very fine with some scattered light handling/storage marks.
