Description:

These revolvers were manufactured c. 1875-1889. The barrel has a replacement front sight that appears to have been made from a penny and "E. REMINGTON & SONS. ILION, N.Y. U.S.A" marked on top. "44" is marked on the left side of the frame at the breech. The inside of the right grip is carved with "JD" and a "J" is carved on the outside. The loading gate has "16" and "588." "588" is also repeated on the trigger guard and under the left grip. The revolver is missing the front half of the cylinder pin.

Rating Definition:

Fine with 80% original nickel plating, minor oxidation, and general mild overall wear. The slightly undersize, re-oiled grips are very good and have period carved initials, light scratches and handling marks. Mechanically excellent.
