Remington Arms started manufacturing M1903s in May 1941 for British lend-lease use, with old tooling and machinery from Rock Island Arsenal. After Pearl Harbor, the rifles were held at Remington and issued to both U.S.M.C. and Army units headed to the Pacific Theater. The barrel is stamped "RA/Ordnance Bomb/10-42." Features a hooded blade front and adjustable ladder rear sight, without a volley sight notch. The receiver ring has standard markings and features. Comprised of numerous Remington "R" marked parts, including the recoil shield, rear sight, front sight cover, and nose cap. Fitted with a high-hump handguard and smooth "S" type straight grip stock with brass pins, sub-inspection stamps ahead of the floorplate, circled "P" on the bottom of the wrist, "F.J.A." inspection and "cross cannons" cartouches on the left side, and checkered steel trapdoor buttplate.

Rating Definition:

Excellent, with 97% of parkerized finish retained with light handling marks, edge wear, and attractive grey/green hue. The stock is very fine, showing signs of light sanding and re-oiling with moderate handling marks and some deep scratches on the right side of the buttstock. Mechanically excellent.
