The barrel is marked "KRIEGHOFF BUFFALO RIFLE CAL. 30/06" on the right with "B.H. DYAS CO. LOS ANGELES, CAL." and "crown Stm.G" on the right, along with "KRUPP-FLUIDSTEEL" around the chamber. The receiver, magazine floor plate, trigger guard, buttplate, and grip cap feature floral scroll engraving, and the name "W.K. VANDERBILT JR." is gold inlaid along the border of the grip cap. Fitted with a multi-point checkered walnut stock with ebony tip, cheek rest, and butt trap. Includes leather and green canvas topped carry case marked "W. K. VANDERBILT JR" with "H. Kreighoff" marked leather label on the inside. The rifle and case are attributed to William Kissam Vanderbilt II, a member of the prominent Vanderbilt family who lived from 1878 to 1944 and was known as an avid motor sport, yacht, and horse racing enthusiast.
