Description:

Remington manufactured the Model 1890 Single Action Army revolver in 1891-94. The Model 1890 was the successor to the Model 1875 and 1888 and was also intended to be the competitor to the Wild West legend the Colt Single Action Army. Old West lawmen and outlaws alike carried the Model 1890, and today the model is one of the most sought after of all of the Remington produced handguns. Offered here is a high condition example that will be a standout piece in any Remington or Wild West collection. Finding a Model 1890 in outstanding condition is becoming increasingly difficult, especially considering only slightly more than 2,000 were produced and the model saw heavy use on the frontier. The top of the barrel is marked "REMINGTON ARMS CO. ILION, N.Y." The caliber designation "44 C.F.W" is marked on the left side of the frame just below the cylinder. The serial number is correctly located on the lower left side of the frame under the grip panel and hand marked on the back of both grip panels. A factory lanyard ring is mounted on the butt. The revolver wears a set of checkered hard rubber grips with the "RA" monogram at the tops. Provenance: The Greg Lampe Collection

Rating Definition:

Excellent, retaining 97% untouched original nickel plating with some general wear on the grip straps and high spots. The grips are also excellent with a few minor handling marks and overall crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent. A standout example of Remington's legendary Model 1890 revolver.
