Excellent Consecutively Serialized Pair of Savage Model 1917 Semi-Automatic Pistols

A) Savage Model 1917 Pistol

Manufactured 1921-1928 with the standard two-line address, patent date, and caliber markings on top of the slide. It has standard features including checkered hard rubber grips with Savage logos at the tops. Consecutively serialized to "B".

ConditionExcellent, retains 97% plus of the original matte blue finish with some very light edge wear and a few light scuffs on the rear of the slide. The grips are also excellent with a few scattered light handling marks and crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent.

This pistol is pictured on p. 129 of "Savage Pistols" by Baily Brower Jr. Provenance: The Bailey Brower, Jr. Collection, author of “Savage Pistols”

ConditionExcellent, retains 98% plus of the original matte blue finish with a few scattered light handling marks and a series of light scuffs visible on the back strap. The grips are very fine with a few scattered minor handling marks and crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent.
