Built around a receiver manufactured by Imbel and imported by Springfield Armory of Geneseo, this semi-automatic rifle has been built up as a selective fire short barreled FAL by Pearl Manufacturing of New Mexico. Something of a specialist tool, short barreled 7.62mm/308 rifles provide heavy firepower in a compact package, at the cost of heavy recoil and a daunting muzzle blast. Post front and tangent peep rear sights, with a vented flash hider on the short barrel, adjustable gas system, smooth forearm and pistol grip, and a plastic buttstock with a skeletonized cutout and an added D-ring for sling mounting. The receiver has the Imbel marking on the underside, with the model and caliber on the left, Springfield and Pearl markings on the right, a metric-pattern magazine well, and internal alterations to accommodate the safety sear. The trigger housing has Israeli selector markings and an extended right handed switch, with functional full, safe, and semi-automatic positions (in that order). The bolt assembly is unnumbered, with a full auto pattern bolt carrier.
