Description:

Manufactured in the early 1940s, the "H" prefix is strongly associated with pistols destined for export to Sweden, which had planned to issue the handgun as the m/39 to their armed forces. The Swedes had intended to replace their current pistols with the Walther; however, World War II and their neutral status meant they couldn't purchase sufficient pistols or spare parts from Germany, which led to the adoption of the m/40 Lahti pistol instead. "Crown/N" commercial proofs marked on the frame and slide. Matching serial numbers on the frame, slide, and locking block, with "2440" on the replacement "eagle/N" proofed barrel, and a military replacement "eagle/88" proofed magazine. The pistol has a rectangular rear firing pin and is fitted with a set of checkered "Cewe" and "480" marked grips.

Rating Definition:

Very fine, retains 98% bright original high polish blue finish on the slide, and 97% arsenal refurbished blue finish on the remaining components with some light handling marks and light finish wear around the muzzle. The grips are also very fine with some light handling marks on the right and otherwise defined checkering. Mechanically excellent.
