Description:

Manufactured using a Catco-made right sideplate and a mix of commercial and military surplus components, this is a fine representative example of the Browning Model 1919A6 machine gun. Developed during World War II, the A6 variant of the 1919 was meant to fill the gap between the tripod-mounted 1919 and the handheld 1918 BAR, giving a weapon more maneuverable than a tripod gun but with greater sustained fire capacity than a magazine fed rifle. Folding blade front and ladder rear sights, with a flash hider/muzzle booster and swiveling bipod on the end of the heat shield, Catco markings on the sideplate, Israeli-marked 7/62mm feed mechanism, and a checkered pistol grip with a clamp-on buttstock.

Rating Definition:

Very fine as assembled, with 90% plus arsenal quality matte gray phosphate finish, showing light edge wear and handling marks. The recoil spring is absent; otherwise, the item appears to be in fine order. NOTE: This weapon is a National Firearms Act (NFA), fully transferable Class 3, which is registered with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, (BATFE) under the provisions of 18 U.S.C. Chapter 44 and 27 CFR part 479.
