Manufactured in 1926 on a "00" frame. According to the table on page 279 of "The Parker Story" by Gunther, Mullins, Parker, Price, and Cote, this is one of only 27 built with this combination of grade, gauge, barrel length, and barrel steel, making this among the rarest of Parker configurations ever produced. Blued Parker Special Steel barrels with a single bead sight on the matted concave solid rib with doll's head extension marked "PARKER BROS MAKERS. MERIDEN. CT. U.S.A. PARKER SPEC. STEEL", standard markings on the flats including the "P.S." for Parker Special Steel, and 2 1/2 inch chambers with automatic ejectors. The casehardened action features standard GH engraving consisting of oval game bird scenes on the left, right, and underside surrounded by light scrollwork and line borders. The gun features double triggers, standard markings on the water table, and tang mounted automatic safety. Nicely figured, multi-point checkered splinter forend with Deeley latch release and engraved fittings and a straight grip stock with silver inscription shield marked "GGL" and hard rubber dog's head buttplate. The above configuration is confirmed on page 549 of "Parker Gun Identification & Serialization" by Price and Fjestad. Barrel and stock measurement (R/L): choke constriction .001/.010 inches; 1 7/8 inch drop at comb; 3 1/16 inch drop at heel; 15 inch length of pull; weight 5 lbs. 11 oz.

Rating Definition:

Very fine, retaining 97% original blue finishes on the barrels, 60% original blue on the triggerguard, and original 60% case colors on the action. The metal surfaces show overall light handling evidence with some discoloration on the action and minor scratches on the barrels. The wood is also very fine with some scattered light dings and scratches, a few small pressure marks, and overall sharp checkering. Mechanically excellent. One could look for a long time and not find another in this exceedingly rare configuration, do not miss this chance to add one to your collection!
