Description:

Manufactured in Big Timber, Montana. The barrel is fitted with brass bead in blade front sight and semi-buckhorn folding ladder rear sights with "CALIBRE 40" marked on the chamber. The top barrel flat is marked "T.R. Girodat," after one of the artisans who professionally worked on the rifle. The receiver is floral engraved and bordered, with an antelope on the left cheek and buffalo on the right side, with the engraver Brian Kaufman's initials "B.R.K." marked on the tang just a head of the trigger. Import marked. Fitted with checkered walnut Schnabel tip forend and straight grip stock with checkered steel buttplate. Includes a spare 30 inch heavy octagon barrel, with fitted Schnabel forend (rear attachment screw absent), chambered for .45-70 Gov't. Provenance: The Wayne Connor Collection

Rating Definition:

Excellent overall as professionally embellished by Brian Kaufman, retaining 99% plus of the original blue finish with light handling marks, attractive antiqued receiver, and crisp forend and stock checkering. The extra barrel is excellent. Mechanically excellent.
