Manufactured in West Germany, this special order rifle features a ramped blade front and adjustable folding leaf rear sights. The receiver is fitted with a Weatherby Premier 3x-9x40 scope mounted on a Redfield swing over mount. The right rear of the barrel is marked "MADE IN WGERMANY", and the opposite side is marked "Weatherby/300 MAGNUM" the left receiver wall is marked "MARK V" and "Weatherby/SOUTH GATE CALIF". The floor plate is lightly floral vine engraved with "WEATHERBY CUSTOM" in a banner. Jeweled fluted bolt and follower. Mounted with a California mesquite one-piece pistol grip stock with rosewood forend and grip cap, raised comb, cheekpiece, vent recoil pad with double spacers, a gold diamond shaped inset to the under side of the forearm which is engraved and inscribed "G/V/N" bordered by rosewood, and sling swivel studs. The wrist and sides of the forearm are relief carved with oak leaf and acorns with a punch dot background. The accompanying factory letter verifies the country of manufacture, the caliber, 24 inch #1 barrel, high luster blue finish, California mesquite stock with rosewood tip, cap and double spacer and high gloss finish, vented recoil pad, Pattern #13 carving, Pattern #16 C inlay with initials "GVN", hooded ramp front (hood presently absent) and folding leaf rear sights, and a 2x-7x Imperial scope with Redfield Swing Over, at the time of shipment to Vogt Brothers Sporting Goods in Effingham, Illinois on June 8, 1971.
