Rare LeMat Cartridge Two-Barrel Revolver

The design is reminiscent of the Belgian LeMat Model 1883 centerfire two-barrel revolver. The full-size revolver has the features of the 1877 patent, which includes the left side knob on the hammer for barrel selection and a lanyard ring mounted in front of the trigger guard. The revolver also has a button barrel latch, ejector rod mounted on the right side and protruding mainspring retaining screw. The front cylinder face is stamped with a Liege ELG proof and the number "19". An addition number "19" is stamped on the right side of the trigger guard. The left side of the frame under the grip is stamped "JD" above the number "11." It is believed that these guns were serialized in order of their manufacture with carbines and revolvers. The top barrel flat is marked "COLONEL LEMAT PATENT." The center barrel has a spring loaded firing pin, which is stuck when a piece of metal down on the inside of the undercurve of the hammer is down. When the piece of metal is up and out of the way, a cavity on the underside of the hammer clears the center barrel firing pin. Blade front, frame notch rear sights, swinging loading gate for the cylinder mounted on the recoil shield and hinge loading gate for the lower barrel mounted on the left side of the frame. A screwdriver is found in the butt. Fitted with smooth two-piece walnut grips.

ConditionVery good. The revolver has an aging bright appearance. The grips are very fine with some minor pressure dents and scratches. Mechanically excellent.
