Description:

Constructed in the traditional two-piece style. Both the outer steel helmet and the inner fiberglass liner bear the post-World War One tricolor quarter-circle rainbow of the 42nd Infantry Division on the left side. The outer helmet is painted matte green with a textured exterior, a 7/8 inch white Lieutenant's bar on the front, a 3 3/4 inch bar on the rear, "363B" stamped inside the brim, and "S. COLLINS 16223110" in white paint on the interior. The liner is painted a darker, glossy green with a 1 inch silver bar on the front, leather chinstrap and canvas webbing. Originally assembled for deployment during the First World War, the 42nd started life as an amalgam of Federalized National Guard units from 26th states. Reactivated for the Second World War, the 42nd was among other tasks, responsible for the liberation of the Dachau Concentration Camp. After occupation duty in Austria, the 42nd was consolidated into a purely New York unit and remains active to this day with deployments to both Iraq and Afghanistan.

Rating Definition:

Fine. The outer helmet shows bright wear along the high edges, a few scuffs and a small dent on the very top. The liner retains over 80% of the paint finish with some mild flaking and scuffs.
